It’s finally beginning to feel like Summer here so I decided to make a post of great pieces for this season. Summer is a great time for bold colours and gorgeous prints so don’t be afraid to move away from the black and browns and whip out some fuchsia and floral prints.
I call these twirly-whirly skirts because when you spin they flare out super adorably. But that’s beside the point. These skirts are great for summer weather as they’re very breezy and can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion. I personally really like this one from Club Monaco (the picture doesn’t do it justice) but they’re extremely trendy right now and can be found just about anywhere. If you’re looking for an investment piece I believe that a circle skirt that’s knee length to mid-calf is a very classic look.
A Simple Necklace
I’m a huge fan of dainty jewellery and I think when paired appropriately they add a little class and interest to an outfit. I usually opt for jewelry made out of silver because it’s affordable and doesn’t fade or leave a green tinge on my skin over time. If you’re looking for some cute pieces, Tiffany’s always has beautiful necklaces. I’ve included some of my favourites below. Since I usually wear my necklaces on a daily basis I find Tiffany’s prices to be okay. However, if you’re looking for cheaper alternatives Oak + Fort, Dogeared (can be purchased at place like the Bay and Blossom Lounge) and many sellers on Etsy all have nice small necklaces that can be worn with just about anything.
Summer Sandals and Flats
For any working women, having a great pair of heeled sandals or wedges is nice way to bring the outside inside. A bright pair of shoes can bring life to an outfit and these colourful shoes by Ivanka Trump would look great with just about anything.
If you’re planning to go on a holiday to a warm climate a comfortable pair of sandals will help keep you cool all day. My favourite sandals in the world are Birkenstocks. My feet get are extremely easily but the arch support and moulded footbed allow me to walk for miles without getting tired. Currently, I have the Gizeh Birko-Flor but I actually found the Madrid to be more comfortable and easy to wear. Plus if you’re a fan of Disney they have some Minnie inspired sandals at the moment: Menorca or Tofino.
Last but not least: A Hugeeeee Everyday Bag
In the summer having a huge bag that can fit your extra clothes, sunscreen, water and everything in-between makes life a lot easier. But of course we don’t want to sacrifice style and also have to carry around a lot of extra weight. So I suggest the Longchamp Le Pilage Tote Bag or Longchamp Planetes Tote Bag. It’s super lightweight and durable, and it also folds up for easy storage.
So let summer begin! 🙂 – J
